Our 3 spacious rooms enjoy stunning views of Salary Brook, Wivenhoe Park, the Colne Estuary, and the town skyline. The large, modern house is south east facing, enjoying sunlight from dawn to dusk. Off road parking is available for 4 vehicles at the front, and a large day lounge with TV is reserved for our guests. Guests usually arrive after 4.30pm and depart before 10.30am, however this is flexible for, eg wedding parties, or people attending conferences/functions at the University of Essex.
Beacon House is ideally situated high above one of Colchester's busiest interchanges on the corner of Avon Way and St Andrew's Avenue, overlooking the newly developed Hythe area & the University of Essex. On the main 64 bus route a ten minute journey from the town centre. Fifteen minutes walk from campus, five minutes from Tesco Hythe and 30 minutes from Harwich and Stansted by car.
Licenced Taxi Service Available. A 5 minute walk brings you down to Salary Brook, a conservation area with 3 lakes for fishing, watching wildlife or walking on made up paths & bridges. There is a lovely walk/cycle ride along the Wivenhoe Trail, which leads to Wivenhoe Village along the river, alternative walk along the river bank to Castle Park and Colchester Town Centre. Children welcome.
