The University of Essex Collection of Latin American
Art (UECLAA), will form a central feature of the newsite complex.
In preparation for this and as part of firstsite's involvement with the University of Essex, firstsite has featured a number of Latin American exhibitions including work from emerging Brazilian artist Nicholas Robbio and from three female south American artists.
fiirstsite and the University of Essex's commitment to Latin American Art has drawn international acclaim. In 2005 Sir Nicholas Serota, director of Tate galleries, visited firstsite for the launch of the UECLAA website.
