Didcot is perhaps best known for the majesty of its power station and power of a different kind at Didcot Railway Centre.

The latter recreates the golden age of the Great Western Railway with its steam trains, and Brunel´s broad gauge railway. Among the thousands of visitors who flock to the centre during the year is Thomas, a very well known tank engine who likes to steam in from time to time.

A more recent attraction is Didcot´s new Orchard Centre, for those visitors who delight in a little retail therapy.
