This preserved former Great Western Railway branchline links the national railway network at Cholsey with the historic market town of Wallingford.

Known nationally as "The Bunk Line", passenger services ceased in 1959. Having secured the line in 1981 and because of the huge increase in passengers and visitors, the Cholsey & Wallingford Railway is now seeking to provide modern facilities at Wallingford Station in Hithercroft Road. The Railway aims to offer steam hauled trains wherever possible, but also operates an interesting fleet of Heritage 08 class diesel locomotives.

Tickets are on sale at both stations. Wallingford Station has a museum, souvenir shop and café with picnic area and provides facilities for disabled passengers including: level access to assisted ticket office, toilet, and ramp to station shop, platform and train. Refreshments can be served on board the train if required. There are no disabled facilities at Cholsey station.

Parking is available at both stations, with FREE off-road parking at Wallingford.

Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead at all times.

Weather permitting, our bouncy castle is available on most operating days for children under 10 with a ticket for the trains.

Please visit our website for a full list of fares and special fare concessions for disabled passengers.
