The building designd by the architect Clutton, was opened on 5th February 1875, the architecture being a mixture of neo-gothic and neo-Norman and reflecting very much the spirit of the Victorian era. Many Catholic visitors to Bournemouth worship at the Sacred Heart and greatly appreciate its beauty and the liturgy celebrated there.

The Church is open every day from 7.30am to 5.30pm.
Mass Sunday: Saturday 6.00pm
Sunday 8.00am, 10.30am & 4.00pm. Polish, 1pm
Holydays: 8.00am, 12.15pm, 6.00pm
Weekdays: Monday & Thursday - 8.00am
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday 12.15pm.
