Burgh Castle Roman Site

The remains of a 3rdC Roman fort overlooking the River Waveney. The monument is only approached on foot.

The remains of a Roman fort built in the late 3rdC. One of a chain to defend the coast against the Saxon raders. It has impressive walls with projecting bastions. Can only be approached by foot.
