Wheelwrights is a cottage recently converted from an 18th century wheelwrights barn and consists of one bedroom with 6ft bed, bathroom with bath and shower, fully equipped kitchen and large lounge with woodburning stove situated in the grounds of a 16th century thatched cottage - The Forge, Kersey Uplands. This small hamlet is one mile from the picturesque village of Kersey in the wilds of Suffolk, halfway between Sudbury and Ipswich, ideal for walking or cycling. The villages of Hadleigh, Lavenham, Long Melford, Dedham, are a short drive away and Felixstowe beach is only 40 mins. Our local hostelry, The Bell is a 20 minute walk for good food and drink and pleasant company. The cottage is suitable at all times of the year as there is electric heating in the kitchen and bedroom, underfloor heating in the bathroom and a woodburning stove in the lounge which keeps the whole place very warm. Towels and linen are provided. The kitchen has a Neff cooker, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and a washing machine if your stay is a long one. There is a small private patio. An affinity to chickens would be an advantage as we have some 30 bantams next to the cottage and a variety of fancy ducks and guinea pigs in our garden. For family reasons we need to keep the cottage free from smoking and pets. Beds and Rooms - skip
