Castle Hedingham
A former market town, granted a charter by King John in the 13th C. Today the winding lanes of this medieval village are lined with timber-framed buildings and elegant Georgian houses. Dominating the village is the 12th C. castle keep of the de Vere family, Earls of Oxford.
