Visiting London there are many things to discover - culture and history, shopping and entertainment, sports and leisure...
The perfect starting point for your tour is West End, which is not only popular for Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and the shopping paradise between Oxford and Regent Street, but also for cultural highlights as for example the Royal Academy of Arts or the Serpentine Gallery. Those looking for a bar or a nice restaurant should go to Soho - the city´s entertainment centre.
Moving further to the west Mayfair and St. James feature the prominent royal sights as Buckingham Palace with the Changing of the Guard. While there go for a stroll through Hyde Park and see what´s happening at the Speaker´s Corner. Notting Hill which is situated further in the north will show you the more funky and fashionable side of London. Enjoy the colourful Portobello markets and during summertime don´t miss out on the Notting Hill Carnival.
To experience the political centre of Britain you have to head again further south to Westminster. With Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben there are some of the most important buildings in British history all in one place. Crossing the Thames you enter South Bank where spectacular sites as the London Eye or the Tate Modern await you. Staying south of the Thames cross Tower Bridge, which will take you back into the "City" with its prominent drawcards as St. Paul's Cathedral.
