Masham is a country market town in the north of the District in lower Wensleydale
and so an ideal base form which to explore the Northern Dales. On the edge of the large market place is the beautiful 11th-century Church of St. Mary. The town holds a Steam Engine and Fair Organ Rally each July on the large recreation area alongside the picturesque River Ure, and the Sheep Fair is held in September.
Masham is home to two of the finest traditional breweries in Yorkshire - Theakston and Black Sheep. Treat yourself to a tour and try their traditional ales. Sample celebrated Yorkshire cuisine in one of the local hostelries; discover unusual arts and crafts and great little gift shops.
