Welcome to Lowestoft, officially Britain´s most easterly town.

Lowestoft is at the heart of The Sunrise Coast and is famous for its multi award-winning beaches and rich maritime connections.

Lowestoft´s beaches have won many awards for quality and cleanliness and are considered to be some of the very best in Northern Europe. The Esplanade running alongside the beach combines various indoor and outdoor attractions and facilities. The seafront has the luxury of having two piers: Claremont Pier, to the south, and half a mile north of this, the South Pier, so called as it is on the south side of the harbour and river mouth. Both offer seafront amusements, eating places and bars.

Lowestoft is the perfect holiday destination for the young and the young at heart. The town perfectly blends wide sandy beaches on one side with wooded broadland on the other, giving it an exclusive appeal for both new and returning visitors.

Lowestoft has a modern shopping centre split into three areas, each offering unique features. The main town centre is a fully pedestrianised shopping precinct offering a wide variety of national chains and specialist shops.

Further Information:

Early Morning fishing on Lowestoft Beach In the north of the town you can find the Triangle Market and Historic High Street which offer a wide range of traditional and unusual retail experiences. The Triangle Market, with its all weather canopies, holds regular specialist markets and a full event programme. The north end of Lowestoft is well worth a visit as it was the original town centre. With its elegant 18th C. merchants houses, hanging gardens and ancient network of paths leading down to the sea which are known as
'scores' - give a unique insight into Lowestoft´s past.

An important piece of Lowestoft´s history has been recently revived in the shape of Lowestoft Porcelain. Originally in production from
1757-1801, original examples are now highly prized and sought after by collectors around the world. A new factory, gallery and Ceramic Café know as ´The Kiln´ are must-visits within the town.

During the Spring and Summer months, colourful flowerbeds can be found in profusion, and there are plenty of leisure facilities on offer including tennis courts and bowling greens.
