The busy market town of Halesworth nestles in the Blyth Valley, an area of natural beauty. The town boasts a number of buildings of architectural interest, dating from the Middle Ages to the present day.
St. Mary´s Church has late Saxon origins and contains an unusual
18th C. altar, as well as interesting brasses and memorials.
The Halesworth Art Gallery is in the 17th C. Almshouses, near the church in Steeple End. There are a number of changing exhibitions of sculptures, paintings, ceramics and textiles.
While you are in Halesworth, take the time to explore the town centre. The award-winning pedestrianised Thoroughfare has a wide range of shops as well as a good choice of places to eat. Halesworth is an ideal place to shop for something just a little special and then to relax with a pint of Suffolk real ale or a glass of locally produced wine at
one of the public houses.
For those who enjoy something more energetic, Halesworth has a public park, children´s play area, skateboard park, heated outdoor pool, bowling green, gym and nearby an 18 hole golf course.
