Ely Museum

A chronological account of the history of Ely from prehistory to the present day; archeology, social and military history.

Exhibits include information and artefacts relating to the formation of the Fens, the earliest inhabitants. Roman rulers, invaders, life on the medieval isle, drainage and agriculture, the gaol and its inmates, law and order, the growth of trade and industry and the war years. There is a temporary exhibition gallery and meeting room with changing displays and events and the ever popular video of the Fens. Free admission to children under 16.
