Framlingham Castle

Come and explore this magnificient 12th century fortress castle with a fascinating history.

The castle has seen many uses during its long and colourful past; a baronial stronghold, and Elizabethan prison, an almshouse and a school. Here Mary Tudor mustered her forces after the death of Edward VI in 1553, preparing to steal the throne from Lady Jane Grey.
- Imagine yourself back in Tudor times as you become 'King of the Castle' from the top of the wall
- Enjoy stunning views of the mere, outer courts and pretty town of Framlingham
- Get close to the amazing, but incongruous Tudor Chimneys that you will find on top of each of the towers!
- Don't miss the 17th century former poorhouse withing the castle walls
- Spend the day taking in the walks around the castle and one of the many tea rooms or pubs in the historic market town of Framlingham.
