Hales Hall Barn and Garden

Late 15thC brick and thatch barn 180ft long built by Sir James Hobart, Henry VII´s attorney general.

Fine queenspost roof with crownposts to living accommodation, richly patterned brickwork. The barn, and similar sized gatehouse, ranged around defended courtyards and moats, are the tantalising remains of this once great house, still being restored.
