Needham Lake is a flooded gravel pit on the bank of the River Gipping, off Coddenham Road, on the edge of Needham Market. Home to a variety of birds and amphibians. A surfaced path goes around the lake and through the reserve enabling all visitors to enjoy the wildlife and peaceful nature of the site. There are large picnic areas either side of the River Gipping, which flows through the site, and play equipment for children. Permits are needed for fishing and model boating. (These can be purchased locally).
Leaflet available from Stowmarket TIC, from local shops and the information room by the lake which is open in summer.
