Holywell Ponds

The ponds at Longthorpe originally belonged to the medieval manor (no longer standing) which at one time was the property of the abbey.

It is possible that the original ponds were laid out in the Middle Ages to supply fish to the manor. The water quality in the individual pools would have been maintained by a series of channels carrying fresh oxygenated water.

Access - due to limited car parking it is very restricted access by car via Thorpe Road at the junction with Longthorpe Green. Through here walk through to Larklands where there are unmade footpaths to the site.
