Beans Seal Trips

Boat trip to see the seals and birds in their natural habitat on and around Blakeney Point nature reserve.

Beans Seal Trips, a family run business in Norfolk for over 50 years, are a very Beans boats was started over 50 years ago by Grandfather Bean and has remained a family run business ever since. In the early days the seals that are now protected were regarded as a problem by local fishermen robbing them of there livelihoods who on many occasions tried to destroy them.

In fact the seal population has had a difficult time for many years have been regarded as the enemy of man. Local stories say that during the war several invasion alerts were trigged by seals hauling themselves out onto the beach sometimes setting off mines. It is believed the artillery used them for target practice. In the early days the seals would not venture close to the boats in fact they would be in the water as soon as boats approached.

Gladly now all that has changed the seals have slowly gained trust in the boats and now we can take you within a few meters of these wild animals. Giving you the feeling you can reach out and touch them.

Starting all those years ago with 1 boat, we now run 4 purpose built craft fitted out with all the latest safety equipment under terms of our license.
