Exquisite Houghton Hall is an early 18thC house built for Sir Robert Walpole.

This beautiful home is virtually unchanged since the 18th century, and it is easy to feel that you might bump into Sir Robert Walpole at any given moment!

This magnificent country estate boasts 350 acres of rolling parkland, full of life - white deer, peacocks, heavy horses are only some of the inhabitents. Gardening connoisseurs would certainly enjoy a stroll around Houghton hall's stunning walled gardens. This would be the perfect setting for a story such as 'The Secret Garden'!

Visitors can also enjoy the extensive collection of 20,000 model soldiers and militaria. There is also a
gift shop and picnic area.

Lord Cholmondeley, the current owner of Houghton Hall, states that;

"Houghton today is the centre of a thriving estate, reflecting the ups and downs of nearly 300 years of history, while still dominated by the ebullient personality, energy and taste of Sir Robert Walpole.
I very much hope you enjoy your visit."
