The Classic Sailing Club was established in 2005 and was set up to attract people who would like to learn about the preservation and sailing of classic wooden yachts. We own 5 yachts that are all based in the beautiful village of Pin Mill on the River Orwell, Suffolk. Each yacht is different in its design & characteristics. The oldest yacht in the fleet was built in 1939. Each of the yachts are coded to current MCA standards and has on board all the necessary safety & life saving equipment. Our boats can be chartered on a skippered or bare boat basis by either experienced or novice sailors. Charters can be for a single day, weekend or any number of weeks subject to availability. People who do not have the relevant experience to sail the boats on their own can come on one of our many club expeditions to the rivers and coastal waters of the East coast. These trips have skippers on board who can help new members learn about sailing these extraordinary craft. The club enjoys a broad membership of keen sailors from around the UK. Membership of the club is straightforward and can be completed on the day of the sail if necessary. A free trial sail worth £25 is included in the membership fee of £50. We may at any time have an offer of free membership, all enquiries are welcome.
Opening Hours
The sailing season at the club starts from 17 March to 4 November. Information regarding the club can be obtained at any time for bookings & enquiries.
