Grade I Listed, the Priory stands in 7 acres of picturesque riverside grounds. Founded as a Franciscan Friary in 1338; became a private house until World War I when it was used as a convalescent home for wounded soldiers. Given to the town in 1920 by Mrs Anne Elizabeth Croft. Now the home of Ware Town Council (the freeholders) with several function and conference suites including the impressive medieval crown post room and the restored conservatory.
