A rare surviving example of a private Victorian town garden, created between 1856-1897 in a former medieval chalk quarry and undergoing restoration by volunteers. Architectural features include a 30ft Gothic fountain, an Italianate terrace, rustic bridge, woodland paths and mature trees.
