Situated on land which has been an agricultural estate from Roman times to the present day. You can visit an exciting interactive museum and an English Heritage Abbey. Visit the village shop and cottage dairy, the blacksmith and basketmaker´s workshop then follow the story of the Benedictine monks, Knights Templars and Franciscan nuns who each in turn have lived on the site since the 12thC. Lots of fun for families with animal, medieval and craft events throughout the year. Remains of a 12thC Benedictine Abbey and a 14thC hall of a religious house.
