Housed in a striking Victorian mansion. Collections include local history. Costume and textiles, military history and archaeology. The Luton life galleries (opened in 2003) tell the story of Luton and its residents over the past 200 years including the famous hat trade, the motor industry and carnival. Other displays include a nationally important lace collection, archaeology and the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire regimental gallery. There are events and exhibitions for all ages and interests throughout the year. Also a small cafe and gift shop.
