The Norfolk Nelson Museum celebrates the life and times of Horation Nelson, England's famous naval hero. Explore Nelson's career, from his Norfolk childhood through his famous battles to his tragic, heroic death, with our hands-on activities. Find out about his mesmerising personality, his terrible wounds and illnesses and his scandalous love life. What was Nelson doing on your birthday? Find out here! Avoid the rats and beware of the cannon fire in Below Decks, a recreation of HMS Victory. Try our hammock, play ships' games, examine cannons from Nelson's time or relax in the picnic area of our new Maritime Courtyard. This year in the blue room we are getting ready for battle in our new exhibition 'Man the Guns: life on board a Naval Warship'. Find out all about how sailors lived, what they wore, just how much it hurt to be flogged and what happened to dead sailors during battles.
