Situated next to the entrance of the Colne estuary, the parkconsists of grassland and a sandy beach, ideally suited towalking, picnics, informal games and wildlife watching. Thepark is 14 hectares with a car park, toilets and informationroom. Erosion by the sea has exposed a geologicallyimportant sandy cliff. Adjoining the park is a further 28hectares of nature reserve comprising saltmarsh and grazingfields, managed for waders and wildfowl. There is a wildlifeobservation hide which overlooks some of this land.
