This small market town, situated halfway between Norwich and Great Yarmouth, sits on the edge of the Halvergate Marshes. It originally stood on the coast, until the reclaimation of the river estuaries. The large green is surrounded by 17/18th C. buildings, whilst the church has a detached, round Saxon tower. Acle is noted for its regular auctions.
